Job Description

Membership Specialist - Caldwell YMCA Treasure Valley Family YMCA Our Caldwell YMCA is seeking a full-time Membership Specialist to join the team! This position is responsible for the development and execution of membership engagement, retention, and transactional activities. The Caldwell YMCA opened its doors on October 27, 2005. Since that time, it has become a hallmark of the community, impacting the lives of thousands of kids and families. Facility amenities include a large cardio and weight floor, full-court basketball gym, three fitness studios, and a state-of-the-art aquatics center including a lap-pool, splash pad, pretzel slide, and lazy-river.
Schedule:
This is a full-time position, 40 hours weekly, including benefits. Schedule requirements are Monday through Friday, 10:00am-6:00pm. Pay is $15.35-$19.19/hour.

Responsibilities:
Engage potential new members by performing cause-driven interviews and tours, explaining the benefits of the Y, and effectively enrolling new members to support them in meeting the seven cause measurement goals. Develop intentional relationships and serve as point of contact for existing members, perform retention activities, and perform cancellation recovery while using discretion and the Y voice attributes. Review and accurately process membership financial assistance applications. Maintain accurate account status for all membership units including invoices, bank drafts, cancellations, and status changes while preserving confidentiality. Assist Welcome Center staff by answering phones, responding to questions, and carrying out additional duties as needed. Work closely with the Director to ensure department operations are consistent with approved Leading Practices. Explains the benefits of YMCA memberships and effectively enrolls new members.
Qualifications:
Experience in customer service, sales, or related experience. Basic math and computer skills. Must be able to engage others in conversations and make all people feel welcome. Ability to respond calmly and quickly to safety and emergency situations. Must have good interpersonal and communications skills and be sensitive, adaptable, professional, and articulate when dealing with others.
