Job Description

Position Summary:
The Reception Desk Attendant is responsible for providing the highest level of customer service to members, guests and prospects of the facility, as well as membership information, enrollment procedures, ongoing customer satisfaction and membership recruitment and retention. The Reception Desk Attendant ensures that everyone entering the Wellness Center is greeted with a smile and exceptional customer service to create an inviting and welcoming atmosphere.
Primary Duties:
Oversee interactions at the service desk including opening and closing procedures, answering phones, point-of-sale transactions, guest registration and fees, check in guests/members for all scheduled appointments, accept member feedback, accept and return lost/found items, guest/member check in, and the provision of information pertaining to all scheduled events, programming, and classes including sign up and fees if applicable. Promote and sell ancillary services such as personal training, massage therapy, medically integrated programming and nutrition services. Schedule appointments, take cancellations and make reminder phone calls. Follow all opening and closing procedures, proper knowledge of check and credit card policies and cash drawer policies. Effective radio/overhead communication with all departments as needed. Seek to achieve established member service satisfaction scores as determined by the membership survey results. Represent Humboldt Park Health in a positive and professional manner.
Position Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED. Previous customer service experience preferred. Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate exceptional listening and customer service skills; be social, outgoing, and friendly. Maintain composure and act appropriately in moments when multiple unexpected challenges arise concurrently. Maintain good health and physical strength, remaining on your feet for the majority of the workday, and capable of working without physical restrictions. Possess a passion for fitness, health, athletics, and wellness. Enthusiastic, professional, and genuine demeanor. Computer proficiency as it relates to the job. CPR and First Aid certification required. Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
