POSITION SUMMARY
15-28 hours: Evenings and Weekends This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit charitable organization, committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Under the direction of the Member Services Supervisor, the Member Service Associate will deliver excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. As well as responds to members and guests needs, promotes and sells memberships and programs, and maintains cleanliness and organization of the lobby area.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the branch and on the phone, contributing to member retention. 2. Interviews and/or tours prospective members; sells memberships. 3. Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and to the YMCA. 4. Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues. 5. Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services. 6. May monitor the locker rooms as required. 7. Assume all other responsibilities as deemed necessary or assigned.

          QUALIFICATIONS
          Requirements:
          • Must be at least 21 years.
          • Must be able to work in the mornings and on weekends as needed.
          • Ability to relate to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
          Education, Training & Work Experience To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 1. Certifications required within 90 days of hire: CPR/AED, and First Aid. 2. Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills. 3. Ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds. 4. Previous customer service, sales or related experience. 5. Basic knowledge of computers.
