N/A POSITION PURPOSE
The Membership Officer is a core position and is responsible for delivering top-notch service to our members through a well-developed knowledge of Filer Credit Union products and services. They also resolve member account issues, add account services, and open new accounts. The Membership Officer III position is to provide our members with financial services and loans based on their needs and qualifications.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
First point of contact for prospective members seeking membership/loans a. Open/close accounts. (Consumer or Business) b.IRA/HSA accounts:
open, withdrawals, rollovers and close. c. Debit and ATM transaction disputes. d. Assist members with account problems. e. Process stop-payments. f. Process wire transfers. g. Review/approve/deny remote deposits. h. Work Payveris. i. Fax documents for members. j. Order/re-order checks for members. k. Set up A2A and A2A transfers. l. Initiate CTR/SAR/Red Flag reports. m. Approve new memberships. n. Interview loan applicants and complete loan application. o. Review financial data to determine risk factors and approvability within policy guidelines. p. Review collateral information and value to determine risk factors within policy guidelines. q. Conduct loan interviews for members. r. Approval or denial of loan applications. s. If the loan is approved, process loan documents, gather required signatures from member(s), secure any liens for collateral, gather required insurance documents, gather any other required documentation, and disburse loan proceeds. t. Approve or deny loans. u. Process and disburse loans. v. Process Dealer loans and maintain working relationships with dealers. w. Audit processed loan files. x. Track titles, insurance, and other items needed to complete loan files. y. Assist members with any changes/problems on loans. z. Assist with Visa/CRI disability payments. aa. Track and update member accounts when on interest only. bb. Process loan extensions. cc. Filing. dd. Get Blue Book values on vehicles and recreational vehicles. ee. Assist members with Visa Rewards. ff. Assist members with GAP claims. gg. If the loan is denied, process loan denial/Adverse Action form and send to member. 2. Assist members as needed with account/loan questions/issues a. Give members valuations from JD Powers or NADA on vehicles/recreational vehicles. b. Process one month "skip a pays" for members. c. Assist members with problems or changes on loans. d. Assist members with VISA Rewards program. e. Assist members with GAP claims. f. Submit claims and post payments for members from loan disability insurance. 3. Promote Credit Union products and services a. Offer Filer Credit Union products. b. Offer to refinance loans from other financial institutions if we have better rates/terms. c. Open Credit Union account for non-members who are applying for a loan. 4. Miscellaneous duties a. Audit loan files. b. Track titles and other items needed to complete loan files. c. Keep loan rate board in lobby updated with most current information. d. Filing as needed. e. Submit and post member disability payments for loans and VISA's. f. Retain a teller drawer for back up functions g. Other duties as assigned. h. Saturday rotation as needed Credit Union Employee a. Ensures work area is clean, secure, and well maintained. b. Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned. c. Assists with promotional activities. d. Participates in credit union committees and special events. e. Completes special projects as assigned. Professional Development Network and attend functions outside of credit union. Community involvement. Team collaboration. Provide assistance, support and knowledge to lending team as well as all credit union staff. d. Ensures the Credit Union's professional reputation is maintained both internally and externally. e. Represents the Credit Union in contacts with business and trade professionals. Continual training and education. Maintain and advance thorough knowledge of lending programs, procedures, guidelines and regulatory requirements. Demonstrates a commitment to professional ethics and complying with all credit union, Federal and State compliance policies. Attends seminars and online webinars/courses.PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS
Membership/Loan files need to be completed accurately and in a timely manner. Minimal errors/corrections found during membership/loan audits. Delinquency ratio on your approved loans within acceptable threshold.QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
High School diploma orGED Required Knowledge:
Past work experience as a Loan Officer preferred. Familiarity with computers and software programs Solid understanding of direct/indirect lending products and practices Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Member satisfaction orientation and cross sale competencies Ability to work in a goal orientated environment.Experience Required:
Credit union or banking experience preferred. Two years lending experience preferred.Skills/Abilities:
Strong communication, problem solving and multitasking skills. Good project management abilities. Well organized, and able to meet deadlines. Able to operate related computer applications and business equipment. Be nimble to constant change in rules and regulations.PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION
Able to sit/stand/walk as job requires. Exert up to 10 lbs of force occasionally with ability to lift 50 lbs. Able to converse with members confidently, adequately, and accurately. Regular and reliable job attendance and punctuality.WORKING CONDITIONS

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Able to interpret a variety of technical instructions and can deal with multiple variables.Mathematics Ability:
Ability to compute discount, interest, profit, and loss; commission markup and selling price; and ratio, proportion, and percentage. Able to perform very simple algebra.Language Ability:
Ability to read a variety of books, magazines, instruction manuals, atlases, and encyclopedias. Ability to prepare memos, reports, and essays using proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar.
