Job Description

Job Description The Chambersburg Memorial YMCA is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic fitness professional to provide members and guests with a positive, safe, and enjoyable workout experience. Fitness Center Staff are expected to deliver outstanding customer service while being friendly, helpful, and attentive to all individuals in the wellness areas. Under the direction of the Fitness Center Director, this position is responsible for building member relationships, conducting fitness orientations, maintaining cleanliness of the fitness facility and equipment. Staff are expected to model and promote the YMCA's core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Key Responsibilities Welcome, assist, and engage members and guests in the fitness center Provide exceptional customer service and support a positive member experience Conduct new member orientations and assist with basic fitness guidance Maintain cleanliness and organization of fitness areas and equipment Assist with preventative maintenance and report equipment issues Build meaningful relationships with members to support their wellness goals Promote and model YMCA mission and core values in all interactions Contribute as part of the Healthy Living team to improve community wellness Respond appropriately, calmly, and professionally to incidents and emergencies Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or older High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience in customer service and/or health & wellness preferred Basic knowledge of fitness equipment and its proper use Strong communication and interpersonal skills Positive attitude, dependability, and professionalism Ability to work collaboratively with staff and members Ability to engage effectively with diverse populations Outgoing personality with strong member engagement skills
