Position Summary:
Position is responsible for directing the daily work activities of the MBA Member Relations department, including all residential and commercial member recruitment and member relations efforts. Under department supervision, the position oversees the development, planning and execution of membership recruiting campaigns and member relations strategies. Position also interacts with current and prospective MBA members with outreach efforts to maintain and build Association membership. Position has direct people management responsibilities
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
§ Directs the development, planning and execution of membership recruiting campaigns and member engagement activities. § Develops and implements a broad-based sales strategy to identify key industry segments to target for MBA membership, using market research and analysis of existing prospect data for predetermined market segment(s). § Works in consultation with key MBA executives to refine and improve existing membership recruiting initiatives, and to develop new strategies to increase MBA's membership penetration in key segments. § Generates prospective membership prospects, develops and maintains member recruitment/retention programs and creates required member pipeline reports. Prepares actions plans and schedules to identify specific prospects and to project the number of contacts to be made; plans and executes a sales strategy to reach these prospective members. § Manages the Member Relations team, with account management responsibility for the top and mid-tier residential and commercial members of MBA ("the portfolio"). Establishes and maintains effective relationships with the leaders of member companies in the portfolio, identifying opportunities for MBA to better understand and support their business efforts. § Identifies and communicates relevant MBA offerings/services to enhance member engagement; continuously assesses member needs and identifies MBA services/resources that help address those needs. Works with other departments to identify highest value MBA products and services for various member-segments, refines the MBA "value proposition" for member segments, and develops marketing strategies around the segment value propositions. § As part of detailed sales project planning and development, prepares action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number of contacts to be made. Prepare a variety of status reports, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals. § Plans, executes, and facilitates company-specific strategic engagement activities for companies in the portfolio, including member site visits or webinars, preparation of reference materials, and ensuring follow-through on any resulting MBA action items. § Develops, in conjunction with the SVP for Membership, Meetings and mPower, revenue objectives and member retention goals to determine and track the success of its membership sales and relationship management efforts.
Qualifications:
Requires bachelor's degree in business, marketing, legal, communications, government or other job-related discipline with a minimum of ten years of prior relevant work experience in mortgage finance or related financial industry in direct sales, sales management and/or account management. Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as interpersonal skills. Must also be self-directed but highly team-oriented and capable of working with senior level executives. Some travel required. The current recruitment range for this role is $150,000 - $165,000, plus sales based bonus eligibility.
