Job Description We are seeking, discerning, and praying as we search for a new vicar to lead Buck Mountain Episcopal Church in the next chapter of our history. BMEC dates to 1747, yet we embrace a living faith inclusive of all who enter our space. Our morning worship is typically Rite II, and our evening service allows for a variety of worship styles. As voiced by our members, we desire a priest who lives deeply in their spirituality, encourages us through their sermons, and is flexible and compassionate. The priest will lead collaboratively as a "partner in ministry" with our vestry and lay leadership and help refine our mission and identity in the community. We seek a priest who will guide us to: Foster Growth and Vitality by helping us tell our story and foster new connections with new neighbors in our rapidly growing area. while continuing to deepen the spiritual life of the congregation. Strengthen Formation across ages to ensure long term sustainability, vibrancy, and development of the parish. Enhance Pastoral Care by providing compassionate support and presence to members in times of need and by working together with our Stephen Ministers. Deepen Outreach by participating as an active representative of BMEC in the local area, strengthening existing partnerships (Food Pantry) and new service opportunities. Maintain Financial Health by working with the Vestry to ensure effective stewardship campaigns and oversight of the church's historic property and daily operations.
