A non-profit located in Mesa, AZ that has served over 2,000 children since opening in 1954. In compliance with DCS regulations, Sunshine Acres Boutique and Donation Center and Sunshine Acres Children's Home require clear background check and drug screenings. We do not hire individuals with a criminal history. Job Summary We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Design Assistant to join our dynamic team. The Design Assistant works directly with the Design Manager on setting and maintaining the displays and design within the Boutique and Mesa Store. This is a full time role. This is a Tuesday - Saturday position. Specific scheduling is done directly with the Design Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Assist the Design Manager with setting and maintaining Boutique design and signature displays in the Mesa Store Create design-led signature displays and theme conversions within the Boutique and Mesa Store. Maintain presentation by filling gaps and redesigning rooms while staying within current themes as product sells through. Work with team to ensure design and display deadlines are being met Knowledgeable of the product needed for the Boutique versus the Mesa Store Ability to decipher high end product and brands to ensure they are displayed within the correct location. Researching unique product to verify authenticity and pricing for the Boutique as needed Partner with Production Manager, Retail Manager and Senior team members on the product needed within the stores for displays and themes Occasionally assist customers on the floor and complete transactions on the register as needed Clean store daily (dust, vacuum, wipe down glass, bathrooms, ect.) Clean donated product to prep for sales floor daily Physical requirements include the ability to lift 25lbs, walking 2-3 miles per day between the stores and drive/yard, pushing carts, climbing ladders and ability to work in extreme temperatures up to 2 hours a day. Maintains in compliance with safety and housekeeping practices and expectations Demonstrates a professional and flexible attitude Willing to learn and take on different job responsibilities Promotes the mission and values of Sunshine Acres. Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must have a design mindset and proven ability to create large displays. Ability to develop design themes throughout the year for the boutique and store. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or equivalent. Preferred prior designing, merchandising, thrift store, retail, leadership, production, warehouse, material handling or customer service experience.
