Job Description

Overview:
The Director of Retail Initiatives is primarily responsible for the execution of strategies developed by the Merchandising and Operations leadership team. As a member of the leadership team, the Director of Retail Initiatives is responsible for crafting short- and long-term focus areas for the team (e.g., objectives, strategies, etc.), and driving results on a day-to-day and quarter-to-quarter basis. The mission of the team is to radically change the buying experience and optimize store performance. This role is responsible for strategically engaging and capturing marketplace demand, driving sales, and executing programs that make a material impact on Sprouts sales volume. This role is accountable for top line growth achieved through influencing people and processes that drive sales and merchandising operations. This role will manage all enterprise-wide tactical activities with vendors, merchant, and end users.
Essential Functions:
Programs Develops Merchandising and Operations Strategy and Tactics Develops forward-looking action plans and reports to business leaders on a routine basis. Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action. Designs and Develops Pilots, PoC, Tests in conjunction with Merchants and Operations Engage and Educate Revisions Process Develop a comprehensive operations strategy with an emphasis on improving the process by which merchandising, and operations communicate their needs. Guides store teams in an efficient manner to effectively perform programs and processes; utilizes metrics to track performance and manage workload of store execution. Ensures operational processes and procedures are compliant and consistent with established policies. Strategic Alignment to Growth Office Initiatives Tactical Alignment to Merchandising Initiatives Guides and Advises Business Process Improvement Initiatives Continuously improves and scales store operations. Communication Quarterly review of essential training materials by department to ensure accurate information is provided to field partners, including evaluation of departmental operations programs and policies. Develops and Communicates Company Direction Communicates and Coordinates with Merchandising and Operations VPs and above. Builds and streamlines Rollout Guides, Ad Directives and Merchandising Notes Leadership Resolves Enterprise Issues Collaborate with merchandising leadership representing the perspective of those executing in-store. Designs and Develops training to facilitate operational execution. Plays a role in the
Mentorship and Development of Ops Specialists Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or an acceptable combination of education and experience. 8 years of previous management experience required. Experience in retail grocery and store management preferred. Robust, scalable business process development experience Experience fostering a business culture that strives for increasingly higher levels of efficiency and effectiveness. Financial and reporting systems experience. Experience with brand and awareness program development. Excellent leadership, verbal, and written communication skills with an ability to champion new ideas. Proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred. Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays. Key Competencies for
