This role is a detail oriented, data driven planning role reporting to the VP, Planning. The Associate Merchandise Planner will be responsible for preparing and distributing key reports, creating seasonal sales plans with order recommendations, and Ad-hoc data analysis that are important to the business while working with cross functional teams to create strategies for long term growth. Key functions are forecasting inventory needs, sales trends, and margin scenarios to meet company financial goals across multiple channels. Strong candidates are those who have a retail background, with a good grasp of retail math and inventory planning concepts. Candidates must be motivated, highly organized, and detail-oriented. A positive outlook and strong interpersonal skills-verbal and written-- are essential. Skills needed for this position include identifying meaningful trends from quantitative and qualitative data, a proficient knowledge of Excel, adept critical thinking, strong communication, and good organizational skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyze historical data and current trends to identify opportunities and risks in the business to proactively influence and problem solve with cross functional partners. Create preseason sales, gross margin and inventory plans by style that support product strategies. Collaborate with Design & Production to support product strategies and vision. Influence pre-season assortment strategy as well as leading seasonal hindsight opportunity. Determine item level order quantities and flow strategies and partner with Production to ensure timely and accurate execution of purchase orders. Create, Prepare and distribute weekly sales/performance/category reports by channel. Analyze and plan markdown/promotions all while maintaining margin goals. Present financial forecast and supporting action plans in open to buy meeting. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with members of cross functional team (Production, Design, Sales, Ops and Planning), setting expectations around prioritization and best practices around key deliverables.
Who You Are:
Must love Excel, have advanced technical skills, and be systems savvy. Believe in the Power of Team; builds constructive and effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of business partners. Possess strong business acumen and strategic agility, able to handle many projects simultaneously while effectively prioritizing workload. Demonstrate strong listening, written and oral communication skills.
QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years experience in inventory planning, finance, merchandising, operations or logistics Demonstrated experience creating financial plans, analyzing product sales data and forecasting replenishment needs NetSuite or related ERP system experience High competency with MS Excel including VLOOKUP and PIVOT tables Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business, Finance, Economics, Logistics, or related is preferred About Ingrid & Isabel, LLC We're Ingrid+Isabel.
