Associate Merchandise Planner Location:

12 Months with possibility of extension Role Overview About the Team The team focuses on planning, forecasting, and allocating products , which are critical steps in delivering products to clients.
They work to:
Build brand partnerships Forecast client behaviors Optimize inventory levels across network The team also handles operations and logistics, ensuring products reach clients efficiently. Innovation, speed, and accuracy are emphasized to maintain high standards in a fast-growing and evolving marketplace . Job Summary As an Associate Merchandise Planner , you will: Manage Brand Planning for pre-season and in-season periods Ensure SKU in-stock and Days on Hand (DOH) targets are met Serve as the financial partner to Merchants to help grow and drive business You will report to the Senior Merchandise Planner . Key Duties and Responsibilities Pre-Season Planning (10%)
  • Create Brand Budget Plans in collaboration with Inventory Directors, Merchants, and Vendors New Brand Strategies (20%)
  • Develop projected sales, inventory by SKU, and order flow for launch periods Open to Buy (OTB) Management (20%)
  • Maintain accurate monthly OTB projections (sales, GM%, receipts, inventory adjustments) and reconcile with forecasts Forecast Alignment (5%)
  • Partner with Demand Planning to align and strategize forecasts Team Guidance (5%)
  • Mentor Merchandise Planning Assistants to prioritize key orders and communicate delays Analytics (15%)
  • Analyze sales and inventory for initiatives, promotions, and seasonal performance Liquidation Strategy (5%)
  • Develop exit strategies for overstocked or exiting brands/collections Vendor Communication (10%)
  • Maintain consistent communication with vendors on sales performance and stock levels Assortment Validation (10%)
  • Analyze and recommend product presentation, discontinuations, and new product development Working Conditions Mostly sedentary work with occasional office movement for meetings Standard office/home environment Occasional evenings or weekends may be required to meet deadlines Limited travel may be needed for senior leadership interactions
Qualifications Experience:
4+ years in planning
Education:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, finance, business, or related field preferred
Technical Skills:
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word)
Key Competencies:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to synthesize data for business decisions Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Clear verbal, written, and presentation skills Negotiation and collaboration skills Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments Flexible, team-oriented, able to handle multiple priorities
