Merchandiser - Staff

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Merchandiser - Staff to join our retail team for a stand at the Santa Monica Pier! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for creating visually appealing product displays, maintaining store presentation standards, and ensuring merchandise is stocked accurately to maximize sales. Responsibilities Implement and maintain planograms and schematics to ensure consistent product placement aligned with branding strategies. Stock shelves efficiently, manage inventory levels, and perform inventory control to prevent stock shortages or overstock situations. Promote and sell the merchandise to passerbys. Assist with remodeling projects, interior design updates, and store layout improvements to enhance overall store ambiance. Provide excellent customer service by addressing shopper inquiries, assisting with product selection, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. Support pricing strategies by updating tags, conducting retail math calculations, and ensuring accurate POS (Point of Sale) transactions. Train new team members on merchandising standards, store procedures, and customer service expectations to foster a collaborative team environment. Skills Proven supervising experience in retail or merchandising settings with strong leadership qualities. Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator for visual design and promotional material creation. Knowledge of marketing principles and branding strategies to enhance store presentation. Multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases effectively. Familiarity with schematics, planograms, interior design concepts, and remodeling processes. Experience in store management including stock management, inventory control, cash handling, and POS systems. Strong communication skills paired with excellent organizational skills for training staff and coordinating daily operations. Ability to manage time efficiently while balancing merchandising tasks with customer service responsibilities.
