Visual Merchandiser Talsma Furniture - 4.0 Byron Center, MI Job Details Part-time From $18 an hour 21 hours ago Qualifications Computer operation Merchandising Retail merchandising procedures Driver's License Wrenches Attention to detail Computer skills Hand tools Full Job Description When a customer walks into a Talsma Furniture store, their first impression must be one of an attractive, well merchandised setting that will inspire them to come in and shop. The visual merchandiser is responsible for designing and accessorizing the showroom floor in accordance with Talsma Furniture's specifications. A comprehensive understanding of Talsma's style and product categories will ensure a cohesive approach to product display throughout all Talsma Furniture stores.
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS REQUIRED
Minimum of 1-2 years visual merchandising experience in a retail furniture setting and/or interior design Strong attention to detail Highly organized with the ability to multi-task Well developed verbal skills, able to communicate effectively Working knowledge of basic tools (hammer, wrench, screwdriver, etc.) Working knowledge of basic computer programs (room planner a plus) Possess a valid driver's license, a good driving record, and dependable transportation
PHYSICAL SKILLS REQUIRED
Ability to lift 30 lbs Ability to carry and climb 12' ladder Ability to bend, lift, carry, and spend a majority of time on feet Ability to work evening and/or weekend hours as needed
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Reports to the Floor Manager and/or Visual Merchandising Team Rotate showroom visits as assigned Assist in creating and executing a planogram for each assigned showroom Ensure furniture placement maximizes visibility and accessibility of product while facilitating an efficient traffic flow through the showroom Select accessories that further enhance the look, style, and color story of the furniture display, creating the "total look" concept Assist with the weekly transfer of new product to the showroom floor Unpack and assemble furniture and/or accessories as needed. Report any damaged and/or missing product to the Floor Manager Print all price tags, utilizing various formats for pricing categories (retail price, clearance, floor sample, promotional, etc.) Replace missing price tags as needed Maintain existing floor displays through the initiation of a recovery process that replaces product sold from the floor, incorporates new and/or returned product, and allows for temporary promotional displays Identify damaged floor samples and report to the Floor Manager asap for repairs to be scheduled
