Field Merchandiser - Garden Centers

Merchandiser may be assigned to one or both of the following home depot locations: 1250 West Ridge Rd, Greece, NY 14615 1111 E Ridge Rd, Rochester, NY 14621 2361 Buffalo Rd, Rochester, NY 14624 Stinchcomb Associates is looking for a reliable and motivated Garden Center Merchandiser to join our team. This is a seasonal part-time role with the opportunity for full-time if the merchandiser covers all three locations. Hourly pay ranging from $17.00 to $19.00. Pay is issued on a bi-weekly basis. Availability to work at least one weekend day per week is required.

September Position Overview:

The Garden Center Merchandiser is responsible for maintaining the appearance, organization, and health of plants and garden products, helping create an attractive and well-stocked garden center for customers. This role services Arborvitae, fruit and shade trees, and tropical plants from RIO in outdoor garden centers. The majority of the work is performed outdoors. Inside the store, responsibilities include maintaining a smaller assortment of indoor tropical plants, succulents, and bulbs. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat and occasional rain. This role requires a flexible schedule based on delivery timing and product needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Stock, organize, and merchandise plants and garden products Water, care for, and maintain plant quality Set up and maintain displays according to company standards Assist with seasonal resets and product rotations Maintain a clean and safe work area Communicate product or plant issues to supervisors

Qualifications:

Some experience with plants, gardening, or horticulture is helpful Ability to work independently and follow merchandising guidelines Comfortable working in an outdoor/seasonal environment Able to lift and move products as needed Dependable, detail-oriented, and task-focused Ability to use Smart-Phone App to record daily tasks If you enjoy working with plants and want a flexible, hands-on role, we'd love to hear from you!
