Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Merchandise Planner to support seasonal merchandise and financial planning within a fast-paced retail environment. This role will focus on inventory optimization, open-to-buy (OTB) management, retail financial analysis , and cross-functional planning collaboration. The ideal candidate will have strong retail math expertise, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to work effectively across multiple teams while supporting strategic business and inventory decisions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Merchandise & Financial Planning
  • Support merchandise planning activities across sales, inventory, receipts, and assortment strategies
  • Manage and maintain Open-to-Buy (OTB) plans to support financial and inventory targets
  • Analyze business trends, sales performance, and inventory productivity
  • Assist in driving profitable inventory and assortment decisions Retail Analysis & Reporting
  • Perform retail math analysis including sales, margin, inventory turns, and forecasting metrics
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and business recaps using Excel and planning tools
  • Identify risks and opportunities through data-driven insights and trend analysis
  • Support weekly, monthly, and seasonal business reviews Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with planning, merchandising, retail operations, and finance teams
  • Collaborate across a matrixed organization to align inventory and business priorities
  • Participate in planning discussions and support strategic decision-making
  • Communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership teams Stakeholder Communication & Presentations
  • Prepare presentations, reporting materials, and business updates for leadership reviews
  • Present planning insights and financial recommendations to cross-functional partners
  • Support discussions related to inventory management , forecasting, and financial performance
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
  • 2-4 years of experience in merchandise planning or retail planning
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Excel
  • Solid understanding of retail math and Open-to-Buy (OTB) management
  • Experience working in a cross-functional matrix environment
  • General understanding of retail operations
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and adapt in a fast-paced environment
