JOB DESCRIPTION

_____________________________________________________________________________ Summary/Objective The Merchandiser is responsible for product appearance and supply in various stores throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. By working with the Sales team, they make certain that the promotion of products will increase sales over a period of time. Responsibilities Stock and rotate Rutter's products on retail shelves and displays. Attend to customers in a courteous and professional manner. Ensure that product on the shelf is clean and in code. Lift and carry product to shelves and displays. Stack empty milk crates in an area designated for Rutter's. Complete daily merchandising activity sheets. Essential Functions Talk, hear, read, write, and comprehend English. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to be at work on time when scheduled. Valid driver's license and proof of insurance and reliable transportation; must travel to store locations as well as offsite meetings (150+ miles occasionally). Ability to work independently and within group projects. Ability to use a PC and or mobile device and other electronics. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to have repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement to work on computer or related office equipment. Must be able to grasp, push, reach, or stoop/kneel/crouch. Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time. Lift, push, and/or pull up to 50-60 lbs. Must be able to tolerate cooler temperatures (30-35 degrees in coolers). Must be able to walk up a flight of stairs. Frequent walking, stretching, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, grasping, and repetitive movements. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. The 5-day work week varies Monday through Sunday based on business needs. May need to work weekends and holidays. Preferred Education and Experience High School Diploma/GED required. Entry level position, no experience necessary.
