Brand Overview- Bare Necessities Founded in 1965, Bare Necessities has become a leading online retailer of bras and intimate apparel, offering an extensive range of sizes, styles and trusted brands. The company combines fit expertise, personalized customer support and digital tools to help customers find products that fit and perform. Bare Necessities also develops private brands through its in-house Design Lab and is a division of Delta Galil, the global designer, manufacturer and marketer of branded and private label intimate, activewear, loungewear and denim apparel. Role Overview As an Assistant Merchant, you will serve as a data-driven support partner to the Merchant team, with a strong focus on Excel-based reporting, data analysis, product data integrity, and operational execution. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in spreadsheets, enjoys working with large data sets, and is highly detail-oriented. You will help ensure accurate reporting, clean product data, and actionable insights that support merchandising decisions, inventory flow, and business performance. While you will have exposure to merchandising strategy, the core of this role is data management, analysis, and executional support. Responsibilities Data Analysis & Reporting  Run weekly and ad-hoc selling reports to analyze performance trends, highlight risks, and identify opportunities Build and maintain Excel-based reporting tools to support merchant decision-making Analyze sales, inventory, and replenishment data to support business recommendations Provide clear, actionable summaries of business performance for Merchant review Support forecasting inputs by preparing and validating data for OTB and planning reviews Data Entry & Product Information Management  Own accurate and timely data entry across product lifecycle systems Maintain product attributes, SKU-level information, and merchandising data integrity Ensure consistency and accuracy of product data across systems and site Manage PO tracking, updates, and reconciliation of vendor and internal data discrepancies Review site listings for accuracy and completeness of product information Inventory, Replenishment & Product Lifecycle Support Run replenishment reports bi-weekly and analyze performance at SKU level Support inventory tracking and stock movement analysis Assist in monitoring product lifecycle stages (launch, in-season, markdown, exit) Identify aged inventory and support execution of exit and markdown strategies through data analysis Operational & Cross-Functional Support Partner with planning and warehouse teams to resolve PO and data discrepancies Support sample tracking, product data collection, and organization for shoots Assist in preparing structured data sets for cross-functional teams (site, marketing, planning, operations) Ensure merchandising systems are updated accurately and efficiently Support product setup and digital presentation accuracy to ensure strong site execution Merchandising Exposure (Secondary Focus) Assist Merchant in reviewing category performance and identifying opportunities Provide data inputs to support assortment decisions and vendor conversations Gain exposure to vendor relationships and product strategy discussions Participate in trend and competitive analysis through data-driven insights
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, Analytics, or related field Minimum 2 years' of experience in retail, e-commerce, data entry, reporting, or analytical support role Advanced Excel skills required (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, large data sets) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail Comfortable working with large datasets and maintaining data accuracy Strong written and verbal communication skills Highly organized with ability to manage multiple deadlines Ability to work independently while supporting a team environment Experience with retail or e-commerce systems a plus, but not required This role is designed as a developmental stepping stone toward Associate Merchant or Merchant track, with a strong foundation in analytics, reporting, and operational execution. You will build expertise in retail data, inventory flow, and merchandising systems while becoming a key analytical partner to the Merchant team. Opportunities may include attending select markets and tradeshows in New York City. This is a hybrid role, with 4 days in our Secaucus, NJ office .
PAY RATE
