JOB PURPOSE
The Merchandising Associate I is responsible in all aspects of merchandising, planning, and implementing pricing strategies to maximize direct-to-consumer performance against sales and profit goals. This role requires partnerships with several cross-functional teams to generate new strategies for growing the Ecommerce business in all categories.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in creating pricing strategies for the Direct-to-Consumer business to drive incremental revenue growth and margin. Help lead merchandising strategy and execution on all digital channels especially the email channel. Aid in merchandising to the Merchant regarding strategy with online and retail assortment, promotional calendar, bundles, custom products, etc. Work alongside all digital marketing efforts for the proper execution of promotions and advertisements. Apply various pricing techniques including everyday pricing, promotional pricing, and markdown pricing to achieve business goals. Provide analysis and reporting for key performance indicators with sales, margin, in-stock rate, sell-thru, etc. Use tools and/or build tools to forecast department, brand, category, and SKU level sales to develop an overall merchandising strategy. Create pricing dashboards to capture pricing KPIs and establish metrics relating to pricing and promotional activity and monitor performance against these metrics. Manage pricing updates in the ERP and Ecommerce platform. Create forecasts and build business cases for new business initiatives. Develop an intimate familiarization with product line master records and product hierarchy. Complete data validation and cleanup tasks with an extremely high level of attention to detail. Creatively determine sales techniques to move stagnant inventory and streamline product lines. Forster a culture of professional development through training, mentorship, and teamwork with peers. Works with other managers, directors, and executives within the company through proper channels to engage in capital projects. All other duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience. Possesses a fundamental understanding of the relationship between products, sales, marketing and the account base. Proficient with software packages such as Microsoft Excel, Bi, and PowerPoint. Fundamental understanding of ERP systems and project management software. Effective communication skills with all levels of the business and be able to reconcile differences in understanding and vision. Strong skills in statistics, mathematics, and analytics Self-motivated, strong planning, organizational and time management skills. Ability to perform work accurately, thoroughly, and timely. Be accountable for your work performance and all actions regarding the duties and responsibilities as it relates to your position. Be accountable and responsible for the proper use and care of company equipment. Maintains a positive attitude, is goal driven and focused on the betterment and overall strategic picture of the organization.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Hours are somewhat flexible, with employees required to attend both team and individual meetings. Occasionally additional hours may be optional or mandatory to complete essential tasks. All work is performed within an office environment with occasional warehouse exposure. Occasional travel may be required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Merchandising Associate I will have to spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. Employee may be required to lift objects weighing from less than 20 lbs. to 40 lbs. on rare occasions. May also be required to walk and stand for long periods during occasional trade show seasons.
