  • Full-time Job Summary The Hardware Inventory & Merchandising Associate plays a key role in managing inventory flow, pricing accuracy, and product availability within the Hardware Department.
This position is responsible for ensuring merchandise is received, tracked, priced, and displayed correctly from "door to floor," while supporting overall store organization and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Inventory Management & Control Receive, unload, and verify incoming merchandise shipments on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings Accurately sort and process inventory by department and category Assist in the creation, review, and organization of purchase orders Maintain accurate inventory counts through routine checks and participation in scheduled audits Identify discrepancies (overages, shortages, miscounts) and report or correct as needed Ensure proper labeling, tagging, and system entry of all incoming merchandise Monitor stock levels and assist in identifying reorder needs Ordering & Vendor Support Create and submit weekly vendor orders based on inventory levels and sales trends Assist in maintaining organized vendor records and purchase documentation Support communication and follow-up on orders when necessary Merchandising & Pricing Execute efficient "door-to-floor" merchandise flow to keep shelves stocked and organized Implement pricing updates accurately and in a timely manner within the Hardware Department Ensure all products are clearly priced and properly labeled Maintain clean, organized, and visually effective product displays Operations & Store Support Assist with ongoing inventory audits throughout the year Operate store equipment including pricing tools, POS/inventory system, and pallet jack Perform regular light janitorial duties to maintain a clean shopping environment Support occasional basic maintenance tasks as needed Position Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Ability to stand and remain active for the duration of scheduled shifts Strong attention to detail, especially with counts, pricing, and product organization Dependable attendance and adherence to store policies Willingness to learn inventory systems and store procedures Preferred Qualifications Experience with retail inventory management, stock control, or merchandising Familiarity with pricing systems and retail equipment (pricing gun, label printers, etc.) Basic computer skills with ability to learn POS and inventory tracking systems Experience operating equipment such as pallet jacks or similar tools What Success Looks Like in This Role Accurate inventory counts with minimal discrepancies Well-stocked, organized, and properly priced hardware department Timely and efficient processing of incoming merchandise.
