The primary duty of the Chain Manager/Team Leader is to manage their sales team to increase sales and share, shelf space share and distribution of product assigned for their assigned territory. This position implements, executes and tracks all company departmental & team goals objectives. This position manages two or more persons, rides along with team members during sales calls, and performs other administrative tasks related to the team.
Consistently demonstrate and model good management and self-management practices in support of Ben E. Keith culture
Hire, train, and develop employees
Act as a mentor by coaching team; communicate best practices
Monitor and follow up on any issues needing corrective action
Provide the sales team with all necessary resources in order for them to achieve maximum execution within their assigned area including instruction, sales data and needed equipment
Ride with team members to observe, coach and challenge them to improve performance
Utilize all available sales data (AB Score Card, Budnet, Smart Business Reviews, IRI, Sell Downs, Tap Share Report, AB Marketing, WEARS, Market Share and VIP reports) in order to identify opportunities, develop goals and objectives, and increase sales and distribution while following the Account Level Planning Process
Track and maintain all Equity Agreement documents
Ensure all Sales Representatives are in compliance with EA and conduct all required "Team Sell" and "Ride-Withs" for each year
Continually monitor Sales Representatives' "Time to Sell"
Monitor daily POS placements, display building, package/brand placements, sales effectiveness, quality control and total execution thereof in the trade
Manage "controllables" on a daily basis (out-of-code and damaged product, expenses, deliveries, hotshots, and instances of out-of-stock product)
Manage day-to-day administration (attendance, vacations, sick days, reports, and various paperwork)
Visit accounts with and without assigned Sales Representatives as often as possible to build on current relationships and gain feedback regarding level of customer service provided by the Sales Representative
Assess performance of direct reports against established benchmarks and provide feedback
Develop the sales team; advise and ensure proper training for all members
Ensure team members adhere to all company policies and procedures
Conduct regular field-based supervision of employee assignments and tasks
Investigate and address any customer complaints and address with employee as appropriate
Respond to accident notification and visit accident scenes involving BEK drivers and/or vehicles
Complete accident reports, set up drug screens, determine cause of accident and take appropriate measures based on the facts of the incident
Build healthy business relationships and establish good communication with our retail customers
Develop and maintain the merchandising schedule based on customer or company needs
Prioritize multiple, competing priorities
Maintain and keep clean assigned company vehicle at all times
Project a friendly, professional image at all times
Attend meetings as required
Operate all company equipment safely and in a manner consistent with company policy
Perform other duties as assigned
Screen, interview, and hire applicants as needed
Job Qualifications:
Excellent performance in previous BEK career path positions
Must have the ability to lead others and obtain desired results through motivation, communication, and leading by example
Strong understanding of beverage industry landscape
Strong understanding of retail environment
Ability to learn and use relevant internal computer applications
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) preferred
Basic computer skills preferred
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Able to coordinate multiple activities and follow through with commitments
Good oral and written communication skills and participate well in a team environment
Must be highly motivated and results oriented, with a strong attention to detail
Must be organized with the ability to handle multiple priorities
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
Must be able to read and write English
Ability to move products weighing up to 165 lbs., stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear
Must be 18 yrs. or older to apply
Must have a valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
Bachelor's degree or its equivalent preferred but not required
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs Driver safety is important to Ben E.
Keith. We use dash cameras which leverage artificial intelligence to recognize safe driving, capture safety events and improve driver safety performance. The videos are also used to exonerate drivers in accidents. All drivers sign a driver consent form upon hire to confirm their understanding. Ben E.
