This individual works closely with body technicians, estimators, and the manager to ensure all necessary parts are available, organized, and delivered to the appropriate repair technician's bays in a timely manner. Key duties include receiving and inspecting parts for accuracy and quality, properly tagging and storing parts, distributing parts to technicians, tracking part usage, and returning unused or incorrect items. The role requires strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Familiarity with auto body parts, inventory systems, and repair processes is essential. The parts person plays a vital role in keeping production running smoothly and helping the shop meet repair deadlines and customer expectations. Responsibilities of a Parts Helper Parts Helper oversees the daily operations of the auto body parts department, ensuring smooth workflow and optimal efficiency. Collaborate with the techs and estimators to identify the required auto body parts for repairs or replacements. Manage inventory and stock levels to ensure an adequate supply of parts for ongoing projects, minimizing delays and optimizing productivity. Receive, inspect, and organize incoming parts shipments, ensuring accuracy and quality control. Utilize our computerized parts system, CCC1, to maintain accurate records of inventory, sales, and orders. Relationships with vendors and suppliers to source and procure auto body parts at competitive prices, ensuring timely availability. Conduct price comparisons and negotiate pricing to maximize profitability while maintaining our quality standards. Provide exceptional customer service by assisting technicians, estimators, and clients with parts-related inquiries and requirements. Requirements for Parts Body Shop Helper Jobs High school diploma or equivalent is required. Previous experience in an auto body parts role or similar position is preferred. Strong knowledge of auto body parts and their applications, including familiarity with various makes and models of vehicles. Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Computer skills, including experience with parts management software CCC1. Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accurate record-keeping and quality control. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with team members, vendors, and customers. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability. Valid driver's license and clean driving record, as occasional local parts runs may be required.
Pay:
$18.00 - $19.00 per hour
