About the Role The Yard & Operations Technician is a hands-on, entry-level operations role that supports multiple departments across the dealership. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, has mechanical aptitude, takes pride in maintaining an organized environment, and wants to build a career in the equipment industry. You'll work closely with our Service, Parts, Rental, and Operations teams to keep equipment ready, facilities organized, and dealership operations running smoothly. This role offers valuable exposure to equipment maintenance, inventory management, customer service, and dealership operations, creating opportunities for future advancement. What You'll Do Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the shop, yard, warehouse, and dealership facilities. Perform general facility maintenance and support operational readiness. Assist service technicians with preventative maintenance, inspections, and basic repair tasks. Perform lubrication services, fluid checks, filter replacements, and other routine maintenance procedures. Wash, clean, and prepare equipment for rental, sale, delivery, and customer pickup. Assist with loading, unloading, transporting, and staging equipment throughout dealership property. Support warehouse and inventory organization activities. Assist the Parts Department with receiving, stocking, organizing, and delivering parts. Provide customer service support at the parts counter and by phone when needed. Help process basic parts transactions and customer inquiries under department guidance. Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment. Provide operational support across Service, Parts, Sales, and Rental departments as needed. Perform additional duties that support dealership success and customer satisfaction. What We're Looking For High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Mechanical aptitude and interest in equipment maintenance and repair. Previous experience in automotive, equipment, warehouse, maintenance, landscaping, agriculture, construction, or labor-related environments is helpful but not required. Strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Positive attitude and commitment to delivering quality work. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to learn dealership software and operational systems. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks throughout the day. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record preferred. Reliable, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented. Bonus Points Experience operating equipment such as skid steers, compact tractors, excavators, forklifts, or similar machinery. Previous dealership, rental, warehouse, or shop experience. Basic mechanical or maintenance experience. Forklift certification or equipment operating experience.
