This role is ideal for someone who is organized, focused, and knowledgeable about parts sourcing and inventory management in a fast-paced service environment. The Parts Specialist will be responsible for managing parts ordering, inventory accuracy, vendor coordination, and internal support for technicians, while also assisting with basic service writer duties as needed. This position plays a critical role in keeping shop operations running smoothly by ensuring the right parts are available at the right time. Key Responsibilities Parts Operations & Inventory Management Identify, source, and order parts accurately and efficiently Maintain organized and accurate parts inventory Receive, verify, label, and stock incoming parts Track backordered parts and follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery Monitor stock levels and recommend replenishment orders as needed. Maintain accurate parts records in the shop management system Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular cycle counts. Vendor & Purchasing Coordination Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, delivery timelines, and returns Compare vendor pricing to ensure cost-effective purchasing Maintain vendor relationships and update vendor records Assist with reviewing invoices and matching parts to purchase orders Technician & Shop Support Work closely with technicians to identify correct parts for repairs Ensure technicians receive parts in a timely manner to prevent downtime Communicate parts availability and delays clearly to the shop team Support efficient workflow by prioritizing parts needs for active jobs Physical Requirements Ability to lift and move parts up to 50 lbs. Stand, walk, bend and reach throughout workday. Help review parts-related charges on invoices for accuracy Comfortable working in both office and outdoor environment as needed. Administrative & System Support Maintain accurate vehicle, and parts records Use shop management software to track parts usage and costs Assist with warranty documentation related to parts Support general office duties related to parts and service operations Qualifications & Skills Previous experience as a Parts Specialist, Parts Counterperson, or similar role preferred Basic understanding of diesel components, hydraulics, heavy equipment truck parts (preferred) Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Strong communication skills with technicians, vendors Comfortable using computers and inventory or shop management software Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated High level of integrity when handling inventory and financial information Why Join Us?
