Job Description

Explorer Marine (founded 1998) is San Diego's premier yacht management and repair company. We are official dealers for Victron Energy, Fischer Panda Generators, Crusader Engines, and other leading marine brands. We service privately-owned yachts generally ranging from 30 to 100 feet in length across all of San Diego's major marinas, and we're actively seeking a motivated Assistant Service Manager to help support our team and continue growing our business. The Role The Assistant Service Manager works directly alongside our Service Manager to keep daily operations running smoothly. This role is the backbone of our office — handling scheduling, estimates, and parts sourcing — while serving as a key resource for our technicians in the field. You'll be trained on our systems, our vendors, and our processes, and over time you'll become a vital resource in our operational processes. What You'll Be Doing On the service side, your responsibilities include: Supporting the Service Manager with daily scheduling of field technicians based on priority, location, and availability Answering incoming calls from new and existing customers, coordinating repair requests, and following up on job status Creating and sending estimates for parts and service to customers Helping to drive the efficiency of our operations and field services On the parts side, your responsibilities include: Researching and sourcing parts from local and online vendors Reviewing parts diagrams and schematics to identify the correct components Ensuring parts are staged and ready on work orders before technicians are dispatched Managing in-stock inventory and keeping part information updated in our systems Shuttling last-minute parts to technicians in the field when needed What We're Looking For Strong organizational skills and attention to detail An aptitude for mechanical or technical systems — hands-on experience is a plus Possess a deep insatiable desire to learn; if you don't know it bothers you until you do Experience, or a desire to be in a customer-facing role with strong communication skills Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment without losing composure Team-oriented, reliable, and punctual
