Job Description

Parts Counter Position Summary:
The Automotive Parts Counter Associate is responsible for assisting customers (both retail and internal service technicians) in purchasing automotive parts and accessories. This role requires strong product knowledge, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to manage inventory systems efficiently. Key Responsibilities:
Greet and assist customers in-person and by phone in selecting required parts. Look up parts using electronic cataloging systems and ensure accuracy of part numbers and descriptions. Process customer orders, returns, and exchanges promptly and accurately. Communicate effectively with service technicians to fulfill internal parts requests. Maintain inventory accuracy by performing regular stock checks and notifying the manager of low-stock items. Receive, unpack, and store parts in the correct locations within the warehouse or parts department. Maintain clean and organized work and storage areas. Process invoices, handle payments, and maintain proper documentation as required. Stay updated on new automotive products, technologies, and promotions. Support parts department goals in profitability, customer satisfaction, and inventory accuracy.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous automotive parts experience preferred (retail or dealership). Familiarity with automotive systems and vehicle makes/models. Knowledge of inventory software or dealership management systems (e.g., CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds) is a plus. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
