Job Description

Keep the shop moving. You'll own purchasing, inventory, vendors, and margins so the right part hits the right bay at the right time—every time. What you'll do Purchasing & sourcing: Quote and order daily from NAPA/Worldpac/O'Reilly/Dealer as needed; compare price/ETA/quality; maintain preferred vendor matrix.
Inventory control:
Set min/max, perform cycle counts, track turns, reduce obsolescence, and maintain accurate on-hand in the shop management system. Receiving & staging: Verify shipments, tag/label parts, stage by RO, and communicate ETAs/shortages to Service Advisors & Techs.
Returns/warranty/cores:
Process RMAs, capture credits fast, track aged cores and warranty returns; reconcile monthly vendor statements.
Margin management:
Maintain pricing matrices, protect GP%, and audit tickets for lost parts lines or miscoded items. Logistics & transfers: Coordinate hot-shots, inter-store transfers, and delivery driver routes; keep the parts room clean and 5S-organized. Systems & compliance: Keep clean POs and invoices in [Tekmetric/Shop-Ware/Mitchell1/RO Writer/etc.]; support safety labeling and hazmat storage protocols.
Teamwork:
Partner with Advisors on accurate estimates and with Techs on part quality/fitment; coach counter assistants/drivers (if applicable). What you bring 3+ years parts counter/management experience (independent or dealer); leadership experience preferred. Strong catalog/fitment chops (VIN decoding, engine/trim nuances) and comfort with ALLDATA/ProDemand. Confident with Excel/Google Sheets; data-driven and organized. Clear communicator and firm negotiator with vendors. Valid driver's license; able to lift 40-50 lbs; reliable and detail-obsessed.
Nice-to-have:
ASE P2 Parts Specialist, bilingual, multi-location experience. Pay & schedule Competitive base $22-25/hr+ KPI bonus tied to GP%(after 3 months of training completed), fill rate, credits captured, and inventory turns.
