Founded in 1968, Star Equipment is a third-generation, family-owned Iowa company that has grown to 85 employees across four locations: Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, and Ames. We provide a wide range of equipment, from small generators and concrete saws to skid loaders, forklifts, concrete pumps, and crane trucks. Job Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer incoming phone calls and provide excellent customer service
- Locate and source parts for customers
- Supply parts and materials to the rental and service departments to help maintain workflow and schedules
- Stock parts and assist with inventory control
- Maintain and maximize parts and supply displays
- Perform deliveries and pickups throughout the Des Moines metro area
- Assist with shipping and receiving operations
- Order parts and track inventory needs
- Crosstrain and assist in other departments as needed
- Bi-lingual is a plus Qualifications
- Positive, outgoing personality with pride in your work
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Previous construction industry, equipment, or parts supplier experience preferred
- Basic computer skills
- Strong telephone and communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. and perform repetitive bending and stooping
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and no restrictions Additional Information Star Equipment is a drug-free workplace.
