Parts Advisor Responsibilities:
The Parts Advisor is the key contact for part sales to customers (both retail and wholesale), technicians as well as working in partnership with the sales department and all service personnel. Assists all customers in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional and efficient manner and keeps customers apprised of the status of orders Informs customers of companion part requirements and specials and ensures that the customer is exposed to the full product line Collects payment from retail customers or obtains credit authorization as necessary Maintains inventory of parts and shop materials daily to ensure that stock remains filled and locates out-of-stock parts or shop materials when needed Makes sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair orders. Manages process for returned parts Issues credit for parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice or its number is available so that purchase and pricing can be verified. Participates with the parts manager in maintaining a lost sales tracking program; track lost sales and report results to parts manager Reviews body shop estimates to be sure the parts that are ordered are correct and all pricing is in line with the estimate Pulls orders for delivery to body shop, making sure all parts are tagged with customer names and job number Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information Verifies will-call and back-order files weekly and returns to vendors, or stocks those items not picked up or required. Follows up on back-ordered parts Keeps orderly records of all repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates and special order parts Sets up orders for daily shipment, delivery or pick up Maintains orderly department work space Assists outside sales representatives with their orders Contributes to the overall success of the dealership by working with all customers, teams and departments collaboratively and professionally with a positive, "roll-up your sleeves" attitude
Qualifications:
Prior experience in an automotive parts department required (Chrysler preferred but will train a qualified candidate). Maintains core knowledge of products and product updates Displays superior customer relationship and interpersonal skills and maintains strong emphasis on customer satisfaction Demonstrates a high work ethic and exhibits professional and acceptable behaviors at all times Is self-motivated, organized and success driven Completes assigned tasks promptly Possesses effective verbal and written communication skills Maintains professional appearance and positive, high energy presence Meets deadlines, prioritizes assignments, and multi-tasks under pressure Is team-oriented with a desire to achieve both individual and collective goals Reports any situation or condition that would jeopardize the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its customers or employees to management Understands and complies with federal, state and local regulations Holds a valid driver's license Able to pass background and drug screenings
