Job Description

Job Title Shop Assistant & Parts Runner Job Summary We're seeking a reliable, detail-oriented team member to keep our shop clean and well-organized, manage parts inventory, and ensure timely pickup and delivery of parts to our facilities. This role supports smooth day-to-day operations and helps our technicians work efficiently. Key Responsibilities Shop Maintenance Sweep and mop floors, workbenches, and high-traffic areas Empty trash cans, replace liners, and dispose of waste per facility guidelines Keep break rooms, restrooms, and common areas tidy Parts Stocking & Organization Receive, unpack, and inspect incoming parts shipments Sort, label, and store parts on shelves or in bins according to inventory system Rotate stock to ensure first-in, first-out (FIFO) usage Conduct periodic inventory counts and report discrepancies Parts Pickup & Delivery Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to schedule pickups Safely drive company vehicle (or personal vehicle, as approved) to retrieve parts Deliver parts to in-house departments or off-site facilities on time Maintain delivery logs and submit mileage/expense reports General Support Assist technicians with retrieving parts or tools as needed Report equipment malfunctions, supply shortages, or safety hazards Follow all safety procedures, wear appropriate PPE, and adhere to facility rules Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs safely Basic inventory management or warehouse experience preferred Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Good communication and time-management abilities Working Conditions Primarily shop/warehouse environment with moderate noise and dust Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting Occasional outdoor driving in varying weather conditions PPE provided (safety glasses, gloves, etc.) What We Offer Competitive hourly wage Health, dental, and vision benefits Paid time off and holiday pay Opportunities for cross-training and advancement
