Ideal candidates have parts inventory experience and have worked with maintenance tracking systems. Apply now to help keep essential public vehicles and equipment running. Duties & Responsibilities Maintain an organized inventory system for fleet parts, tools, supplies, fuel, equipment, and related materials needed for daily operations. Order, receive, store, issue, and track stock and non-stock parts and supplies in accordance with established purchasing procedures. Deliver and retrieve vehicles, parts, supplies, and other materials to support timely repair and maintenance of the fleet. Process packing slips, invoices, reconciliations, and data entry in financial and maintenance tracking systems, including assigning invoices to the appropriate cost centers for approval. Assist with maintenance planning, preventive maintenance support, fuel inventory tracking, and supply room organization to help keep operations running efficiently. Support maintenance, installation, and repair work on equipment, systems, and components while following safety and operational procedures.
Requirements Required:
High school diploma or GED equivalent. 1 year of experience in a purchasing department and/or parts inventory environment. 1 year of experience working with or managing a computerized maintenance management system. Valid driver's license. Ability to obtain a Michigan CDL Class B within 6 months of hire. Ability to comply with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration FMCSA and . Department of Transportation DOT drug and alcohol testing requirements as a condition of employment. Ability to use computer-based inventory, maintenance, and financial systems, read technical manuals, plans, and drawings, and work independently with strong organization and communication skills. Ability to safely lift and move parts and materials, work around equipment and mechanical hazards, and perform physical tasks in shop and field environments. #SJ1
Compensation:
$24.62/hour starting pay Pay increases based on length of service, advancement in the position, and other contractual factors AFSCME union-represented position
