PARTS COORDINATOR
Position Summary Advantage Fleet is seeking a highly organized and motivated Parts Coordinator to support our heavy-duty mobile diesel technicians throughout the state of Michigan. This position plays a critical role in ensuring technicians have the correct parts, materials, tools, and support necessary to complete repairs efficiently and minimize customer downtime. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, experience with heavy-duty truck parts, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a strong sense of urgency. This individual will work closely with mobile technicians, service management, vendors, and customers to coordinate parts procurement, deliveries, returns, inventory tracking, and job support. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Coordinate parts sourcing and procurement for mobile diesel technicians Research and identify heavy-duty truck, trailer, hydraulic, electrical, engine, suspension, brake, and aftertreatment components Work directly with technicians to ensure accurate parts ordering and job support Coordinate same-day and emergency parts deliveries when necessary Maintain communication with vendors regarding pricing, availability, warranties, and estimated delivery times Process parts returns, warranty claims, and core returns Monitor open parts orders and follow up to ensure timely completion Assist in maintaining inventory levels for mobile service trucks and commonly used shop stock Verify parts received against purchase orders and invoices Enter parts information accurately into company management software systems Assist management with tracking costs, margins, and billing accuracy Support technicians in minimizing downtime and improving overall operational efficiency Maintain clean and organized parts storage areas and records Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and internal staff Assist with after-hours or emergency parts coordination when required Qualifications Heavy-duty truck or diesel parts experience preferred Knowledge of Class 6-8 truck systems and components preferred Experience with vendor sourcing and parts lookup systems Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Computer proficiency and experience with shop management software preferred Valid driver's license required Forklift experience is a plus Preferred Experience Heavy-duty fleet maintenance environment Mobile diesel service support Cummins, Detroit, Paccar, CAT, Volvo, or International parts familiarity Hydraulic, PTO, crane, aerial, or vocational truck component knowledge Experience with emergency vehicle or specialty equipment parts is a plus Physical Requirements Ability to lift and move parts weighing up to 75 pounds Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in warehouse/shop environments Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions What We Offer Competitive pay Health insurance benefits Paid time off Advancement opportunities Ongoing training and development Fast-paced team-oriented work environment Opportunity to work alongside one of Michigan's leading heavy-duty service operations Advantage Fleet is committed to investing in its people, delivering exceptional customer service, and building a team-oriented culture focused on professionalism, efficiency, and growth.
