Job Description

ROLE:
The Counter Sales CSR supports the branch by providing exceptional customer service and product expertise in electrical and industrial supplies. This role is responsible for serving walk-in and call-in customers, processing orders, maintaining product knowledge, and ensuring a positive and efficient counter sales experience. The position requires strong communication skills, accuracy, initiative, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while representing the company professionally.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide friendly, efficient customer service at the sales counter and over the phone
  • Assist customers in selecting appropriate electrical and industrial products for their applications
  • Enter orders, quotes, and returns into the ERP system accurately and promptly
  • Process cash, credit card, and account transactions in accordance with company procedures
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked counter and showroom area
  • Follow up on customer orders, backorders, and special-order items
  • Handle product returns, exchanges, and warranty claims professionally
  • Coordinate with inside sales, outside sales, purchasing, and warehouse personnel to fulfill customer needs
  • Assist with inventory cycle counts and product merchandising as needed
  • Resolve customer issues and escalate concerns when necessary
  • Develop product knowledge in electrical, industrial, safety, and related categories
  • Participate in vendor trainings and stay informed on new products
  • Support branch operations and special projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma required
  • Experience in counter sales, electrical supply, industrial distribution, or related technical fields preferred
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical and industrial products a plus (or willingness to learn)
  • Proficiency with computers, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Positive attitude and professional demeanor when interacting with customers and coworkers
  • Team-oriented with a strong work ethic

WORK SCHEDULE
Monday through Friday most weeks with overtime to meet customer and company needs. Work schedule can vary but will normally be scheduled during regular work hours sometime between 7:00am - 4:30 pm. Average work week will typically be forty hours but can be as much as 45 hours. Weekends on rare occasions.
Pay:
From $18.00 per hour
