This position serves as the face of the branch and plays a critical role in building long-term customer relationships while supporting sales growth and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Greet customers promptly and professionally while delivering outstanding customer service. Assist residential and commercial HVAC contractors in identifying the correct equipment, replacement parts, accessories, and supplies for their applications. Process customer orders accurately using the company's ERP system. Prepare customer quotations and follow up on open quotes as directed. Maintain a strong working knowledge of HVAC products, including residential and commercial equipment, controls, indoor air quality products, refrigerants, tools, and commodity items. Answer incoming phone calls and respond to customer inquiries regarding product availability, pricing, and order status. Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment. Assist with special orders, warranty claims, returns, and customer issue resolution. Promote additional products and suggest complementary items that provide value to customers. Maintain an organized, clean, and professional counter area. Assist with inventory management by stocking shelves, rotating inventory, and reporting stock shortages. Participate in cycle counts and inventory accuracy initiatives. Develop and maintain positive relationships with contractors, vendors, and coworkers. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED. Previous customer service or sales experience. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Basic computer skills and ability to learn ERP software. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods. Preferred Previous HVAC distribution experience. Working knowledge of residential and commercial HVAC equipment and parts. Experience with ERP systems such as Infor CSD or similar wholesale distribution software. Forklift certification or willingness to become certified. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills. Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn HVAC products. Strong problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Professional appearance and positive attitude. Ability to accurately read invoices, purchase orders, and product specifications. Basic math skills for pricing, discounts, and order accuracy. Physical Requirements Frequently stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday. Lift, carry, and move products weighing up to 50 pounds. Work in both office and warehouse environments. Safely operate warehouse equipment after proper training.
