Job Description

Automotive Parts Consultant / Counterperson The Parts Consultant advises, recommends and sells retail and wholesale parts to all available customers, over the counter, through the shop, or on the phone. This position contributes to the success of the dealership by effectively selling parts to internal and external clients while achieving individual and departmental sales objectives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Interacting with technicians to fill their parts requests Interacting with retail & wholesale customers to fill their parts requests Tracking all incoming and outgoing parts for a dealership. Locating available parts when the dealership is out of stock. Handling parts payment collection and making sure all parts are billed correctly through the service department and collision repair shop. Assisting with packaging and shipping parts back to the manufacturer from time to time, and completing the appropriate record keeping. Referring to parts manuals (both hard copy and electronic format) to identify exactly the right part(s) for the make, model and year of vehicles being serviced. Assist walk-in customers in selecting required parts, suggest companion requirements, offer specials, and ensure that the customer is exposed to the full product line. Pull purchases from stock. If the part is not in stock, determine availability and submit an emergency order if requested by the customer. Answer phone calls, providing price quotes and other information. Assist outside sales representatives with their orders. Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick up. Any other tasks directed by parts manager related to the parts dependent Job Requirements
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Must be familiar with parts catalog Previous experience with Dealertrack DMS system is preferred, but not required. Must have computer proficiency. Ability to use computers for mathematical calculations, word processing, emails, research, training, testing and communications with manufacturers. Team oriented, flexible and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service Valid driver's license Previous Chevrolet parts experience is a plus Must have superior communication skills (both written and verbal). Previous Automotive Parts experience is a BIG plus!
WILLING TO TRAIN THE RIGHT APPLICANT THAT IS WELL VERSED IN AUTOMOTIVE KNOWLEDGE, PROFICIENT USING A COMPUTER, AND HAS EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS.
