Job Description

Summary/Objective We are seeking an organized, customer-focused, and knowledgeable Parts Counter professional to join our team. The primary role is to ensure the efficient operation of the parts department by assisting retail customers and service technicians, managing inventory, and supporting overall parts sales and distribution.
Key Responsibilities Customer Service & Sales:
Greet and assist walk-in customers and technicians promptly and professionally to determine parts needs. Look up parts using catalogs, computer systems, and technical diagrams. Solicit additional sales by recommending related parts or accessories. Provide accurate pricing and availability information.
Inventory & Processing:
Charge out merchandise and handle cash/credit transactions, making necessary entries to the inventory control system . Process and distribute special order parts ; notify customers when orders arrive. Receive, inspect, and process warranty parts and returns according to company policy. Assist in conducting cycle counts and physical inventory checks.
Department Maintenance:
Maintain shelf stock organization and ensure parts are properly labeled. Keep the counter area clear, clean, and neat at all times. Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly parts storage area.
Team Support:
Communicate effectively with the Service Department regarding parts availability and delivery. Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with all team members. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in parts counter sales, preferably in an automotive or related industry. Strong knowledge of automotive parts, terminology, and systems. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Proficiency in using inventory management systems (experience with ADP or similar DMS is a plus).
