Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Parts Counterman to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while assisting clients in locating and purchasing automotive parts. This role requires strong communication skills, a solid understanding of inventory management, and the ability to handle transactions efficiently. Duties Assist customers in identifying and ordering the correct automotive parts. Maintain an organized inventory system to ensure accurate stock levels. Handle cash transactions and operate the cash register with precision. Communicate effectively with customers over the phone and in-person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette. Negotiate pricing and terms with customers when necessary to ensure satisfaction. Market promotional items and new products to enhance sales opportunities. Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for tracking inventory and orders. Provide multilingual support to cater to a diverse customer base, if applicable. Skills Proficient in cash handling and operating cash registers. Experience in retail sales with a focus on customer service excellence. Strong negotiation skills to effectively manage customer expectations. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers and team members. Knowledge of inventory maintenance practices to ensure stock accuracy. Familiarity with CMMS is preferred but not required; training will be provided. Multilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with a broader clientele.
