Job Description

Job Overview We're looking for a highly organized, fast-paced, and customer-focused Diesel Repair shop Counter/Parts Person to join our busy heavy equipment repair shop. This role is the central hub of daily operations—balancing customer service, technician support, parts procurement, inventory management, and administrative tasks to keep the shop running efficiently. Your mechanical knowledge and customer service skills will drive success as you coordinate parts sourcing, handle order management, and support our commitment to delivering top-tier diesel and equipment repair services. Support Technicians . Phone Responsiveness . Parts Inventory. Invoice Readiness. Provide exceptional customer service by assisting technicians and clients with parts selection, technical specifications, and automotive diagnostics support. Serve as the primary point of contact for parts ordering, inventory control, and customer inquiries within the diesel repair shop. Ordering, receiving and some shipping, stock replenishment, and parts organization to optimize workflow. Utilize software to process purchase orders, track inventory levels, and update data entry records accurately. Collaborate with suppliers on parts and/or equipment procurement, sourcing OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts, and ensure timely availability of essential components. Support logistics activities such as shipping & receiving coordination, freight scheduling, to streamline supply chain processes. Maintain detailed records of inventory movements using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for inventory control. Other duties as needed. Qualifications Proven experience in warehouse management, supply chain management or automotive parts sourcing within a dealership or repair shop environment. Strong mechanical knowledge related to automotive diagnostics, auto body repair, HVAC systems, equipment repair, and automotive service procedures. Familiarity with ERP systems; experience with inventory management tools like CMMS or QuickBooks is highly desirable. Ability to operate forklifts safely; forklift certification preferred. Excellent negotiation skills for supplier management and procurement negotiations; adept at pricing strategies and demand planning. Proficient in data entry with attention to detail to ensure accurate record keeping of inventory and order processing. Legible handwritting. Knowledge of shipping & receiving protocols along with logistics coordination experience. Active listening skills. Preforming general physical actives- including doing activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials. Exceptional customer service skills combined with effective communication abilities to support internal teams and external vendors. Join our team and be the engine that keeps everything moving.
