Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Insurance Company is seeking a Property Pricing Intern to work out of their Alpharetta, Georgia office.
Hours:
Between 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. 15-30 hours per week during the school year depending on the applicant's schedule 30-40 hours per week in the summer Duties in the Pricing Department include: Collection and analysis of data to determine pricing of various property characteristics Interaction with state departments of insurance to gain approval of desired rates where needed, and interaction with internal programming team to ensure accurate implementation of rates. Communication of pricing decisions and results via regular and ad hoc reports Required data reporting for the states in which we write business Regular review of live policies to check for accurate rating During this internship, the student will gain: Knowledge of fundamental concepts of insurance (including coverages & pricing) An understanding of basic commercial property insurance pricing and the organization of pricing data
Requirements:
Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior Major in business, math, or equivalent Work with detail and accuracy Strong math skills Excellent grammar, proofreading and written communication skills Ability to meet deadlines A comprehensive benefits package is available for regular, full-time employees, including health, vision, dental, life and disability insurance as well as a 401(k) with company match.
