Job Summary:
Our innovative and growing team is seeking an experienced Pricing Coordinator. At Gateway, the Pricing Coordinator is a key resource to provide pricing solutions to customers through the sales and account management channels. The pricing specialist uses information resources regarding customer needs, historical data, market conditions, and internal targets to prepare pricing quotes and/or internal proposals regarding pricing.
Responsibilities:
Variety of duties, including but not limited to the following: Operational duties include coordination with shippers, truckers, airlines, and offices for the quoting process of shipments. Customer Service responsibilities include maintaining communication with vendors, shippers, customers, carriers, and overseas offices throughout the quotation process and choosing proper routing appropriate to the customer's needs. Negotiate cost-effective rates with service providers to ensure maximum profitability. Maintain SOP (standard operating procedures) and customer profiles including key contacts, specific requirements, contract rates and preferred routings/services/carriers. Participate in quotes for overseas offices as requested. Immediately report problems, operation disputes or discrepancies to supervisor, manager, divisional manager, or branch manager. Resolve issues respective to meeting client requirements, data input - general customer service inquiries related to tracking & tracing. Other duties assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in Logistics or equal level experience a plus. Excellent working knowledge of Ocean Freight pricing terminology. 2 Years Freight Forwarding experience required. Experience in negotiating Ocean Freight pricing and trucking rates agreements/contracts. Comfort working cross-culturally in an international context. Domestic, Dispatching, Imports, or Ocean Operations experience is a plus! Ability to use Reporting Systems Familiarity with tools and technology Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Office Suite Basic geography and mathematics Excellent written & verbal client-facing communication skills. Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
