Job Description
DescriptionAWS is seeking an exceptional Worldwide Tech Leader for Modernization to drive strategic modernization initiatives across our global customer base. This senior technical leadership role will define and execute the technical strategy for application modernization, infrastructure modernization, and cloud-native transformation at scale. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with executive presence, enabling AWS customers to accelerate their modernization journeys while building world-class technical teams and programs. Basic Qualifications
- Define and drive the worldwide technical strategy for modernization initiatives, including application modernization, infrastructure transformation, and cloud-native architectures
- Lead complex, enterprise-scale modernization engagements with strategic customers across multiple industries, providing hands-on technical leadership during critical initiatives
- Develop reusable frameworks, tools, accelerators, and technical guidance that scale modernization efforts worldwide
- Engage directly with C-level executives and technical leaders to assess modernization readiness, define transformation roadmaps, and build trusted advisor relationships
- Build, mentor, and scale a global community of modernization specialists through training programs, knowledge sharing mechanisms, and career development frameworks
- Establish thought leadership through speaking engagements, whitepapers, blog posts, and industry events to position AWS as the modernization leader
- Create modernization assessment methodologies, maturity models, and reference architectures for common transformation scenarios
- Drive adoption of AWS modernization services including AWS Transform
- Navigate complex organizational and technical challenges to unblock customer modernization initiatives and accelerate transformation journeys
- Drive revenue growth through successful modernization engagements, expanded AWS service adoption, and strategic opportunity identification
- Drive alignment across AWS field teams, partner organizations, and service teams on modernization priorities and execution strategies About the team This position is part of the AWS Specialist and Partner Organization (ASP).
Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of leading development of applications backed by AWS services or using other cloud based technologies and services experience
- 5+ years of providing technical leadership and project management for all aspects of the software development lifecycle experience
- 10+ years of working with Enterprise Application Modernization and Migration technologies, including, but not limited to, Mainframe, Serverless, Containers, or Cloud Operations experience
- Experience with AWS or cloud technologies
- Knowledge of software engineering best practices across the development life cycle, including agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Experience engaging and influencing C-level executives, both business and technical
- Experience managing and delivering large-scale enterprise IT projects
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related technical field or equivalentPreferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of distributed systems design and implementation or equivalent
- Knowledge of large scale automation and workflow management or equivalent
- Knowledge of database design and implementation or equivalent
- Knowledge of presentations and whiteboarding skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with internal and external executives, IT management, and developers
