Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience 15 years of experience with software and Cloud collaboration products Experience in technical sales, product management, and professional services (delivery) Preferred qualifications: 10 years of experience across cloud computing (e.g., infrastructure, storage, platforms, data), the cloud market, and customer buying behavior Experience working in multiple geographies Experience leading through influence across teams that thrive in ambiguity in a dynamic, highly matrixed environment Ability to quickly learn, understand, and work with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Cloud/IT technology space Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to deliver a polished and professional business and technical pitch to the C-Suite and board levels Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to build relationships to cross-functional outcomes About the job As the Global Customer Engineering Director, you will be the leader responsible for bringing experience and thought leadership to help set vision, mission, and strategy for the Google Workspace (GWS) technology solution pillars. In this role, you will be required to bring together the global community to understand technical blockers in the sales, implementation and product enhancement requirements. These should be consolidated, prioritized to build a business case to present to senior leadership in product to influence the product roadmap and support the growth of the business. In addition to business cases, you will engage with product to unblock key product issues impacting our ability to close sales. In addition, you will identify gaps in our technoloy go-to-market strategy and work with functions to support the overall Customer Engineer(CE) community on enablement, solution building and Professional Services Organization (PSO) to influence the success of the business. You will engage in big bet sales accounts to influence key technology decision makers to support a Workspace decision in the business. You'll act as a thought leader in external forums including analysts, external (Google and non Google) events to drive awareness of the GWS value proposition. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $291,000-$405,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities Build, inspire and lead a cross-functional distributed practice of specialist Customer Engineers across the region. Be the external advocate of Google Workspace and Google Cloud for your specialist focus area. This includes press and analyst communities, customers, and partners. Reflect the voice of the global customers, partners and field to influence a data-driven vision and direction for technology, solutions and use case development at Google Cloud. Assist in the delivery of published materials aligned to your specific specialist focus area supporting Google Cloud solutions and use cases. Partner closely with, product leaders, sales strategy, and executive leadership to ensure solutions alignment with engineering, product priorities, and GTM priorities. Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as required (30%).
