Job Description

Grace Church is a multi-site church headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Find out more about us on our website: https://gracechurch.city The Grace Student Ministry Pastor (full-time) will lead a movement—not just a ministry—among middle and high school students by cultivating disciples of Jesus who live on mission, grow in spiritual maturity, and develop into future leaders of the Church. This role prioritizes deep discipleship, relational evangelism, and multiplying student leaders over event-driven programming.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Discipleship (Primary Focus) Build and implement a clear, reproducible discipleship pathway for students (6th-12th grade) Personally disciple a core group of students and leaders (think: depth over crowd size) Equip adult volunteers to function as disciple-makers, not just chaperones Integrate Scripture, spiritual practices, and theology into all aspects of the ministry Track and measure spiritual growth, not just attendance 2. Evangelism & Outreach Develop a culture where students actively share their faith in their schools, teams, and networks Create outreach strategies that are relational and mission-driven (not just attractional events) Equip students with confidence and tools for everyday evangelism Partner with parents and the broader church to reach unchurched students Regularly engage in the local community and school environments 3. Leadership Development (Multiplication Engine) Identify, train, and deploy student leaders and young adult leaders Build a leadership pipeline that moves students from participation ? ownership ? multiplication Develop student-led initiatives, teams, and gatherings Mentor key leaders in character, calling, and competency Create opportunities for students to lead in worship, teaching, outreach, and service 4. Ministry Leadership & Execution Oversee weekly youth gatherings, small groups, and leadership environments Recruit, train, and care for a team of adult volunteers Collaborate with church staff to align youth ministry with overall church vision Communicate effectively with parents and families Manage ministry budget, calendar, and systems with intentionality Qualifications A growing, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ Alignment with the church's theology, mission, and values Proven experience in youth ministry, discipleship, or leadership development Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams (students and adults) Strong communicator with the ability to teach Scripture in a compelling and relevant way Missional mindset with a heart for reaching the lost Highly relational, self-motivated, and entrepreneurial
