FARMERS MARKET REPRESENTATIVE

Sales person/public relations as an ayurvedic food ambassador at markets across metro Detroit Part-time and weekend availability required. Reliable transportation needed for travel within metro Detroit. Compensation and schedule discussed at interview. We are a small food company with a question at its center: what happens when food stops being just fuel and becomes an experience worth being lost in? We travel to farmers markets across metro Detroit not just to sell, but to build community, spark curiosity, and invite strangers into a moment of genuine delight. As our market representative, you are our first point of contact with the world. You'll bring our products to market, introduce them to new people, and hold space for presence and sensory experience with some light education.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Set up, staff, and break down our market booth at farmers markets throughout metro Detroit Engage customers with warmth, presence, and genuine curiosity, not a sales script. Offer samples and tell the story of what makes our approach to food different Handle transactions, and manage basic inventory & product display Gather feedback from the community and bring it back to the team Build ongoing relationships with returning customers and fellow vendors

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR A

passion for food, community, or both. Curiosity over credentials. Someone who genuinely enjoys talking to people and building connections, is interested in having their own unique relationships to weekly customers. Must be comfortable with early mornings, outdoor settings, and being on your feet. The schedule is also an abnormal work week, with much more flexibility than a 9-5, typically busiest on weekends. While you are not asked to work every weekend, regular commitment to a market (or set of markets) is preferred. We value reliability and a sense of ownership over the experience you're creating. No prior farmers market experience required. We'll teach you everything you need.

WHAT THIS ROLE REALLY IS

You are an ambassador for a different relationship with food, one rooted in sensation, story, and community. You'll travel to markets, meet people where they are, and leave them with something they didn't expect: a little more wonder than they arrived with. Hopefully you'll leave a little richer too, not just in pocket but maybe in new friends and gifted food & flowers.

Pay:

$20.00 - $26.00 per hour
