Now and Zen DIY Studio is a unique terrarium and plant-building studio located in downtown Dayton's Fire Blocks District. We offer walk-in terrarium building, private parties, corporate team-building events, off-site workshops, birthday parties, bridal events, school and youth activities, and other creative group experiences. This position, Now and Zen Event Connector, will help introduce our studio to new audiences and generate group event bookings. Position Overview This is a flexible, outreach-focused position ideal for someone who enjoys meeting people, making connections, sharing creative ideas, and helping groups plan fun experiences. The Event Connector will promote Now and Zen's private events, off-site workshops, team-building experiences, birthday parties, bridal events, and community group activities to potential clients throughout the Dayton area. This role is best suited for someone who is outgoing, organized, professional, and comfortable reaching out to businesses and organizations by email, phone, social media, and in person. Responsibilities Identify potential group event clients, including businesses, schools, churches, apartment communities, senior communities, social clubs, HR departments, nonprofits, and community organizations. Introduce Now and Zen's event options to prospective clients. Share promotional materials, pricing information, and event details. Help generate leads for private parties, corporate team-building events, off-site workshops, and group visits. Represent Now and Zen in a positive, professional, and enthusiastic way. Track contacts, leads, follow-ups, and potential bookings. Attend occasional community events, networking opportunities, or local vendor events when appropriate. Communicate regularly with Now and Zen ownership regarding leads and booking opportunities. Help promote special events such as First Friday, Sip & Create, Saturday workshops, and group experiences. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who: Enjoys talking with people and building relationships. Has a positive, friendly, and professional personality. Is comfortable making phone calls, sending emails, and visiting local businesses. Is organized and able to follow up consistently. Has good written and verbal communication skills. Is self-motivated and able to work independently. Has an interest in creative experiences, plants, events, small businesses, or community engagement. Is familiar with Dayton-area businesses, organizations, schools, or community groups. Has prior experience in sales, event planning, marketing, outreach, customer service, networking, or business development. Experience is helpful but not required. Schedule This is a flexible, part-time opportunity . Hours may vary based on availability, outreach activity, and event opportunities. Some daytime availability is helpful for contacting businesses and organizations. Occasional evening or weekend availability may be useful for events, networking, or community outreach. Compensation This position is commission/referral-based, with the opportunity to earn income from qualified group event bookings generated through your outreach.
