Position Overview:
This a salary + commission role and the earning potential for a good producer is $120K to $200K annually. The Marketing Rep , through their network, will help find referrals for Flatbay's lending program, and help fund over $10 million in new loans per year. Flatbay Capital is searching for an outgoing "brand ambassador" with a big smile, professional appearance, and the ability to network and open doors. Must be energetic, willing to network at functions, and call your network daily to keep in touch. The Marketing Rep will cultivate new relationships and develop a referral network; proactively visit banks and networking events with the goal of getting to know new referral sources. Previous roles as a Brand Ambassador, Pharma Rep, Title company Marketing Rep, Inside or Outside Sales, Waitress could be helpful. Video interview required upfront. The Marketing Rep's business connections are essential for generating new commercial loan opportunities. Seeking someone with the willingness to grow your network, meet new people every single week, and follow our daily sales routines which have proven to be very successful for our other Marketing Reps. This is an outside sales/ marketing role that will require daily in-person and phone conversations. The ideal candidate is extroverted, likes to talk about your company (and how we solve problems), and is motivated by making money. Commissions will be paid every time you close a new commercial loan. Flatbay Capital will train the right candidate in how to talk about private-lending; we will train the candidate on Commercial Real Estate and Banking/ Finance. But what we cannot train is someone being a self-starter, driven, entrepreneurial, and being a "Go Getter" that is willing to work hard and get ahead. Successful candidates will be out all over the city networking, talking to your business connections on a daily basis, scheduling and having a busy calendar with breakfast and lunch appointments every day.... if this does not sound interesting to you, please do not apply.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop Referral Relationships:
Establish new relationships with business and commercial bankers to build yourself a network of referral sources. These bankers will call you with new loan opportunities- and you will get a generous commission when we fund those loans. Once developed, you'll maintain contact with them on a monthly basis. Routines are key.

Identify and Engage Partners:
Identify key bankers and financial institutions that serve your target market. Execute the outreach strategies to introduce our services and build mutually beneficial partnerships.
Quantified Goal:
To have 300 referral sources that know your name and know what Flatbay Capital does. Requires a minimum of 60-80 in-person touchpoints per month, and another 60-80 phone conversations per month. If you are talking to 10 people per day (half in-person and half over the phone), then it is highly likely that you will be successful in this role and fund millions of dollars of commercial real estate loans in your first year.

Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to connect with potential referral partners and promote our services.- T raining and
Support :
Flatbay will train the MRs to learn the basics of commercial real estate lending, and business banking. In return, the Marketing Rep will educate and support your referral partners: ensuring they understand our products so that they can effectively refer clients to us. The more your banker friends know "how" we operate, the more likely they are to send you good referrals. The Marketing Rep will not be alone on an island; the Region Manager will be engaged on all new referrals to help pre-screen them and to work with the borrower or banker on the transaction.
Qualifications:
- Extroverted personality who enjoys being social, shaking hands with a smile, and networking with a wide variety of white collar professionals. Business attire will be required.
- Previous experience (not required but helpful): previous positions working as a Title Company BDO or Marketing Rep, Business Banker, SBA lender, Pharmaceuticals or Medical devices Rep, Factoring or equipment finance BDO, MCA or specialty finance business development, or Brand Promotions.
- Communication skills: in-person (3-minute elevator pitch) and over the phone (5 minute touchpoints).
- Proven track record of building and managing referral networks or partnerships.
- Ability to organize/ plan and invite bankers/lenders to gatherings we host such as happy hours, Pickleball socials, luncheons, etc.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
In order to grow your network of commercial bankers, the Marketing Rep will need to be a social person and attend many networking events, luncheons, joint networking groups, etc.

We will provide training at our Houston office and prepare you to hit the ground running; and we will provide the marketing materials and swag (caps, water bottles, etc) to give away to your clients. The Marketing Rep will become knowledgeable in CRE and private lending, getting the opportunity to work for a Private Credit firm that is one of the fastest growing companies in Texas.
