Gate Keeper

Position Summary:

Big Valley Auto Auction is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Gatekeeper to manage vehicle entry and exit at the auction facility. This role is responsible for ensuring all incoming and outgoing vehicles are properly documented, accounted for, and directed to the correct areas of the lot. The ideal candidate is alert, fast-learning, self-motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced auction environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and control all vehicle movement entering and leaving the auction facility Verify vehicle information against inventory records and auction documents Check in incoming vehicles and assign them to designated lot areas Ensure all outgoing vehicles are properly authorized for release Maintain accurate records of vehicle movement and gate activity Communicate with auction staff, transport drivers, and lot personnel Identify and report discrepancies, missing paperwork, or issues immediately Maintain a professional and orderly gate area Follow all safety and security procedures at all times Learn and accurately apply all dealer codes and auction procedures

Requirements:

Must be 21 years of age or older Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record Must be a fast learner with strong attention to detail Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision Ability to quickly learn and retain dealer codes and auction processes Must be able to use tablets for vehicle check-in, data entry, and auction inventory systems as part of daily job duties Strong communication skills (verbal and written) Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Work Environment:

Fast-paced gate and auction environment with continuous vehicle traffic. Position requires working outdoors in all weather conditions , including heat, cold, rain, and wind.

Pay:

$14.00 per hour
