Job Description

Retail Sales Ambassador Zion National Park Forever Project Have retail experience and a GREAT attitude? Ready to make a difference that will last forever? The Zion Natl Park Forever Project (ZFP) at Zion National Park, a 501c(3) nonprofit organization, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Sales Ambassador at its park store. ZFP is Zion National Park's official nonprofit partner, raising private funds through high-quality, interpretive retail sales and philanthropy efforts directly benefiting Zion Canyon, Pipe Spring, and Cedar Breaks National Monument. Operations are open 7 days a week, including holidays, with varying work schedules. Full-time hours ONLY are available at this time (32+ hours per week). The position is located in Zion National Park (Springdale, UT). Applicants will need to be available for full time hours at least through the end of November. Students who need to drop hours in the Fall will not be considered for a position. The Sales Ambassador works under the direction of the Store Manager to maximize retail opportunities, provide visitor information, and give outstanding customer service. The position requires maintaining a positive attitude in a team environment, being professional in appearance and demeanor, and having the necessary problem-solving skills and retail literacy to ensure smooth operations. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, or as needed is a must. Hours may be reduced during off-season months.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Sales Ambassador will be responsible for the following: Customer Service - 50% Take initiative to maximize sales through visitor connection and rapport. Greet visitors with a cheerful welcome while anticipating and meeting park visitors needs. Consistently provide excellent customer service. Inspire our visitors to form a lasting connection to our park through retail and philanthropy. General Retail Operations - 50% Have an operational understanding of computerized cash register to complete point of sale transactions quickly and accurately. Remove and record cash and other receipts in register and securely account for transactions accurately. Responsible for accurate safe and register counts and daily accounting reports as required. Assist with unpacking, moving, storing, stocking, bar-code labeling and price checking of merchandise as needed. Assist with physical inventories, including annual inventory. Keep sales area clean, organized, and stocked with appropriate merchandise and signage. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Provides feedback to leadership on processes, general store operations, and branding opportunities or needs. Assists with fundraising or special events as needed.
KEYS TO SUCCESS

MUST-HAVES
) To be successful in this job, you will excel in these areas: Hard skills: Minimum 1 year of retail experience required. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Computer point-of-sale software and hardware experience required. Above average math skills and the ability to operate electronic devices such as computerized cash registers, computers, calculators, etc. Ability to stand for extended periods and repetitive motions. Capability of working long hours in variable temperatures. Ability to lift product boxes of up to 40 lbs.
