Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Leasing Consultant to join our dynamic property management team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for prospective residents, guiding them through the leasing process with enthusiasm and professionalism. Your expertise in property leasing, customer service, and legal administrative procedures will ensure a seamless experience for applicants while maintaining compliance with Fair Housing regulations and Section 8 guidelines. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a vibrant community environment, support property operations, and foster positive relationships with residents and prospects alike. Responsibilities Greet prospective tenants warmly, answer inquiries via phone and in person, and provide comprehensive property tours to showcase available units. Manage the leasing process from initial inquiry to lease signing, including data entry into Yardi or OneSite property management systems. Verify applicant information, including income qualification for LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) properties and Section 8 vouchers, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory standards. Prepare, review, and negotiate lease contracts, amendments, and related legal documents while adhering to Fair Housing laws and landlord-tenant regulations. Conduct thorough background checks, credit screenings, and reference verifications to select qualified tenants. Maintain organized filing systems for lease agreements, legal documents, and resident records; ensure accuracy in data entry and record keeping. Collaborate with property maintenance teams to coordinate move-ins/move-outs and address resident concerns promptly. Upsell available amenities or additional services to enhance resident satisfaction and retention. Stay current on industry trends such as CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) usage, facilities management practices, and local housing regulations to optimize leasing strategies. Skills Strong knowledge of LIHTC programs, Section 8 housing policies, Fair Housing regulations, and landlord-tenant law. Proficiency in property management software such as Yardi or OneSite; experience with Data Entry and Office Management tools. Excellent customer service skills with professional phone etiquette; ability to handle conflict management gracefully. Legal administrative experience related to lease agreements, contracts, filing systems, and compliance documentation. Effective negotiation skills with a focus on upselling amenities or additional services while maintaining positive relationships. Familiarity with real estate administrative processes including contract management, data entry accuracy, and filing procedures. Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced office environment; strong organizational skills are essential. Knowledge of property maintenance coordination processes and facilities management principles is a plus.
