Job Description :
The Estate Planning Paralegal is responsible for providing support to an attorney on a day-to-day basis, as well as working closely with clients, legal assistants, and other team members to ensure effective and timely attention to important legal matters. This position will draft estate planning documents as well as assist with probate and trust administration matters.
Essential Duties :
- Prepare correspondence, contracts, other documents and/or memoranda in draft and in final form from dictation, handwritten material, and typed copy;
- Effective communication with all clients in a timely manner;
- Draft/update/revise wills, trusts, and other estate planning documents;
- Assist with court filings, notices, pleadings and/or other documents for attorneys as requested, and including electronic filing;
- Assist with recording of deeds, including electronic recording;
- Create, edit, and proofread complex and practice-specific legal documents, forms, and correspondence to ensure accuracy and completeness;
- Prepare various entity formation documents for attorney review.
Specific Skills/Knowledge :
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional writing and proof reading abilities
- Effective communication skills
- Mastery of the English language and grammar to allow for advanced writing and editing of legal documents
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Advanced knowledge of MS Word, Word Perfect, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
- Knowledge of MS Excel Power Point
- Knowledge of Electronic Filing/Recording Education and/or
Experience :
