Headquartered in San Francisco's dynamic South Beach neighborhood, just steps from Oracle Park, we specialize in the acquisition, development, and management of self-storage facilities and commercial real estate across five states. As we continue to expand, we're seeking an ambitious and analytical Real Estate Acquisition and Development Associate to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role at a company known for its long-standing industry reputation, strong investment track record, and entrepreneurial culture. Our office is in the heart of the city's tech and innovation hub, surrounded by the energy that defines San Francisco. Position Overview We're looking for a results-driven and detail-oriented professional who is passionate about real estate, particularly the fast-growing self-storage sector. You'll be involved in all aspects of the acquisition and development lifecycle, from market research and financial modeling to due diligence and deal execution. Key Responsibilities Conduct in-depth market research to identify acquisition opportunities based on demographic trends, zoning, transportation, and market demand. Build and maintain detailed financial models in Excel to project income statements, cash flows, and balance sheets. Support the evaluation, underwriting, and structuring of self-storage and commercial real estate acquisitions. Assist in coordinating project management and development activities across active sites. Prepare investment presentations and internal memos to support executive and investment committee decisions. Manage and maintain due diligence checklists and closing timelines. Develop investor reporting, budgets, and capital/debt proposal materials. Track and interpret key project data including schedules, budgets, contracts, and financials. Proactively source off-market acquisition and development opportunities by identifying high-potential assets and initiating direct outreach to owners, leveraging data-driven strategies and relationship-building to generate investment opportunities. Represent the company at industry events and conferences to stay ahead of market trends. Preferred Skills & Qualifications 2-3+ years of experience in real estate acquisitions, development, or investment analysis. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business, or a related field. Proficient in Microsoft Excel; strong financial modeling and analytical skills required. Deep understanding of self-storage or commercial real estate markets a plus. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. High attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and within a team.
